During the height of Queen’s fame, the British rock group thrilled fans with peerless showmanship and anthemic songs. Combining alternative sounds with traditional arrangements, Queen’s music leaves a mark on people. And this September 7, the Candlelight series is bringing an enchanting concert to Richmond with a distinctive setlist featuring some fan favorites and performances of pieces by Giacomo Puccini and Mozart.
Taking place at Bolling Haxall House, a historic mansion, this special tribute will see multiple genres coming together and being worked into the classical form for unforgettable takes on the impressive back catalog of one of the most influential bands in history.
Candlelight: A Tribute to Queen and More
Creating something similar to Queen’s rich harmonies is no easy task. The British rock band turned to classical arrangements, heavy metal, hard rock, and opera to produce such impactful tracks. What better way to experience their music than accompanied by Mozart and Puccini’s influential works? On September 7, some of the greatest music of all time will come together in an entirely new and awe-inspiring way.
Classically-trained musicians are set to take to the stage inside the Italianate-style Bolling Haxall House to present audiences with renditions of “Somebody to Love”, “Love of My Life”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, and more. Followed by works such as Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro” and “Quando m’en Vo’ (Musetta’s Waltz)”, you’ll witness something extraordinary.
