As you listen to the music, you’ll be treated to breathtaking recreations of Michelangelo’s art. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition displays the Renaissance legend’s 34 stunning frescoes like never before. At this exhibition, Michelangelo’s work is printed with a special technique that captures the look and feel of the original paintings. These pieces have been recreated to be the same size as those within the Sistine Chapel. And since these pieces aren’t 60 feet off the ground like at the Vatican, you’ll be able to take in unprecedented amounts of detail.
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition will be held at Stony Point Fashion Park, so if you’re in the mood, you can grab a bite at Latitude Seafood Co. before and catch a movie after the exhibit! Start your week off right with some Italian frescoes, classical music, and a night out in one of Richmond’s finest shopping centers.
Featured among Michelangelo’s 34 frescoes is, of course, the legendary piece The Last Judgment. The painting has sparked countless debates among artistic critics since it was revealed in 1541. It took Michelangelo four years to complete, and if you look closely (and can recognize his face), you’ll notice that he actually inserted himself into the painting.
